Gotta love a woman who wraps herself in colour.

About Pauline de Rothschild
(according to Wikipedia)

Born Pauline Potter in 1908 to
American Expats living in Paris.
Her mother was a descendant
of Thomas Jefferson.
Pauline was a great-great-granddaughter
of Francis Scott Key
and direct descendant of Pocahontas.

Pauline was raised in New York City, Paris,
Biarritz and Baltimore.
She attended finishing schools
in France and Maryland.

Her first break in her career came as a
personal shopper to wealthy socialites.
She stayed in fashion, working with Marshall Field
following as Director of the fashion house Hattie Carnegie.
Pauline wrote for Harper's Bazaar and Vogue
and wrote a book, The Irrational Journey.

Pauline's first marriage appears uneventful.
At the age of 46, she added Baroness
to her title with her marriage  to
Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1954.

At the age of 68 and after 22 years of marriage,
Pauline's heart gave way in 1976
in the lobby of the Biltmore Hotel
in Santa Barbara, California.

She is buried on the grounds of
Chateau Mouton Rothschild
in Pauiliac, Bordeaux, France
beneath a translucent tomb made
of Lalique glass and marble.

A life according to Wikipedia...
